Course : Cultural Heritage Site Management-Master Degree in Museum Studies & Cultural Heritage Management-Course description:The management of cultural sites has become a topic of much interest in recent years. However, heritage management is not a new enterprise. Sites have been managed in one way or another since the moment they came to be considered “heritage”.The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the history and evolution of cultural heritage management and legislation relating to archaeological resources aspect of international conventions, from national laws to practice and their applications in the field.Course goals:1. Attain a detailed knowledge of the goals, methods, and applications ofcultural heritage site management with a particular focus on archaeologicalprojects and case study sites in the region;2. Be able to discuss cultural resource legislation - how it emerged in the early20th century, how later legislation was refined in scope and terminology, andthe strengths and weaknesses of specific legislative acts;3. Critically evaluate and respond to real and simulated cultural resourcemanagement situations in areas relating to ethics, scope, business practice,methodology and public involvement;4. Understand the fundamentals of cultural heritage site management as abusiness, and have the ability to prepare components of a cultural resourcemanagement project proposal and final report.

As a PhD Candidate, I joined the team of research at the Department of Architecture, La Sapienza University of Rome.• Assisting Prof. Fabrizio Toppetti in lecturing and teaching at the course titled Housing Lab I, which consisted of theoretical lectures and practical work: - analyzing the urban context, mapping, understanding of different residential typology and housing around the world; drawing of different residential typology, building models;• Collaborating in the research titled “Lifestyles and the City of the Future: The Case Study of Rome" Award project in cooperation with the municipality of Rome, under the supervision of Prof. Alessandra Capuano; • Collaborating in the research titled “Principles of Gestalt Laws and Everyday Urbanism: Perceptual dimension of Geometry.” under the supervision of Prof. Achille Ippolito.

• Mission with Frontex in Sicily – Instant interpretation in the field from/to Arabic, French, Italian, English and Spanish; • working as an interpreter with inspectors & police officers from the European Union investigating the refugees arriving illegally from North Africa to the port of Catania & Siracusa in Sicily.

• Translating 5 articles about different topics that concern immigrant and foreigners living in Italy; from Italian language to Arabic, French & English. Those articles were published on an online portal and they were shared via FB to help immigrants and refugees to know about their rights and get informed about problems they are facing in health care, legal issues and education.

• Researching an archiving system based on international standards to inventory, conserve and manage modern architecture heritage in Lebanon and the MENA area; • Scanning & archiving digitally deteriorating architectural plans of modern buildings in Lebanon between the 50s and 80s.

• Teaching a workshop part of the course Design VI (for students studying 4th year Interior Design) on museum conservation & display of objects focusing on specific Keywords such: “Architecture, Heritage, Collection, Object, Communication, Display, Society” and their relation to museum management & design planning; •

Assisting research for the MEGA (Middle Eastern Geodatabase for Antiquities) and Archesprojects to provide to the international heritage community a free, user friendly, web based open source geographic information system (GIS) based to inventory, monitor, and manage heritage places.

Collaborated on the construction documents for the library building (Area 40 000m2) of the Princess Noura University Project / PNU – KSA • Provided analysis and synthesis for the lighting, plumbing, electrical, tiling, HVC & false ceiling plans for the development of the execution & construction plans. • Coordinated with consultants, designer architect & contractor (SAUDI OGER Ltd – France)
