Joyce Beumer (9-2-1968, Enschede) holds a propaedeuse in the informatics (1988-1990, University Nijmegen) and her degree in Cognitive Science – direction human-computer interaction and Information ergonomics (1990-1996, University of Nijmegen). She worked at the Institute of Perception Research (IPO, 1994-1996, Eindhoven) and developed a special interface for visually impaired persons.From 1996 till 1998 she was occupied with advising the management team of the national rehabilitation institute 'Het Loo Erf' in the Netherlands about the e.g. service design of distant computer training courses,, dveoped a method to compare different kinds of technological aids and developed digital lessons. With her Ph.D. research (1998 – 2006, Delft University of Technology) she made two service design for training and support, r both for the Dutch revenue and the previously called rehabilitation center. . Technological, usability and policy aspects are discussed in her dissertation. In 2004-2006 she worked freelance in which she made an inventory and compared digital learning environments for the Delft University of Technologyin 2006-current she worked as a teacher interaction design at the Hague University of applied sciences, group of Communication and Multimedia Design (2006-current), faculty IT and Design. She develops and teaches lessons, and supports students who are finishing their degree. From 2010-2012 she is also worked as a researcher and member of the research group Information, Technology and Society. She discovered the strength of transformation research and supported students during their practical research like developing a service around an electronic guide for people with dementia.With a researhgroup, she developed guidelines for practical research within the faculty.
