At Booz & Company, I was aligned to the Health Practice and worked in the provider, payor, pharmaceutical, and disease management spaces. On an engagement for an urban safety-net hospital provider, I helped to develop a new operating model to provide higher quality care and improve access for uninsured patients. This model has an expected 5-year NPV of $9MM and won board approval for implementation in 2009.In addition to my work in the Health Practice, I had experience with both media and financial services clients.

During my summer internship at Booz & Company (formerly Booz Allen Hamilton), I was involved in the organizational restructuring of a music distribution company. In this assignment, I conducted workshops and interviews with client teams to capture insights, led the development of an economic profitability model that enabled account managers to better determine trade-offs and set performance goals, and analyzed the music recording industry to create a high level picture of industry trends and their impact on the client.

At Aravind Eye Care System (AECS), I assessed organizational culture issues related to AECS’s expansion to diverse regions of India. This involved identifying core components of the firm’s culture and developing an action plan to transfer the culture to satellite and partnership hospitals.

At Ann Arbor Learning Community, I led a team of six consultants in creating a sustainable growth strategy for this K-8 charter school, identifying key opportunities in marketing, teacher development, and community involvement.

At ITT Space Systems Division (formerly part of Eastman Kodak Company), I worked with a government client to improve satellite imaging quality, assessing the client’s imaging service needs and designing tools to meet those service needs. Additionally, I created developmental satellite imaging data to test government handling capabilities, winning division wide recognition and a commendation from the cross-company program manager.Prior to this, I was part of a rotation-based development program at Eastman Kodak Company. During my rotation in the Entertainment Imaging division, I led a study on motion picture film uniformity. In my rotation in the inkjet division, I supported the development of key color features in the EasyShare printer dock, a product which generated $100MM revenue its first year and won industry awards for product innovation.

During the 2004 presidential election, I took a leave of absence from ITT and worked full time as a political organizer. In this role, I identified operational inefficiencies in Get Out The Vote activities and led a 15-person team in reorganization of process, resulting in 56% increase in Get Out The Vote activities on Election Day. I also organized a day-long canvassing event as part of National Women’s Election Action day, exceeding voter outreach targets by 22% and reaching 1400 households. Additionally, I regularly led teams of six into urban and suburban neighborhoods to promote voting to unregistered and inactive voters, surpassing daily targets by an average of 30%.
