Worked with 2023 fellows cohort, local universities, government, partners & NGOs to develop a comprehensive sustainable development plan for the island of La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain.

GLOBAL LEAD, DATA CENTER SUSTAINABILITY, GOOGLE DATA CENTERSRecruited by Google to lead Global Data Center Sustainability based on my work at Stanford. - Built and managed a global team who inspired and drove projects on energy efficiency, energy supply, healthy materials, toxics removal, waste minimization and employee engagement across data center design, construction and operations.- Initiated, developed, piloted and launched an internal rating system for sustainability in data center design and construction. Enabled supply chain partnerships, local sustainability teams and sustainability improvements globally. Quantified over $80 million in savings from sustainability projects instigated and completed.- Published quarterly PUE results on www.google.com/about/datacenters/.- Coordinated external sustainability reporting and requests for information.- Presented Sustainability@Google both internally and externally.DATA PRIVACYRecruited from Datacenters to Data Privacy to find opportunities to scale privacy reviews across all Google product lines, in anticipation of GDPR regulations. Analyzed practices across dozens of teams, created standards, and led development of an internal tool used for all product launches, both internal and external, at Google. GOOGLE NEST INTERNATIONALIZATIONJoined the Google Nest Team in Taipei, Taiwan to establish and expand Nest’s international presence by identifying and managing external partnerships to enable global expansion. Led localization and technical product readiness for the launch of all Nest non-English products across 34+ countries on 4 continents.

- Initiated, developed and led cross-functional Sustainable IT initiative at Stanford.- IdentifIed and led cross-university initiatives to reduce energy use, operating costs and capital by managing the IT Infrastructure more efficiently. Target infrastructure included facilities, data centers and ICT gear for research, administrative, and desktop computing. Successfully bridged IT and Facilities teams.- Received over $100,000 in PG&E rebates and delivered savings of over $4,000,000.- Founded and led Sustainable IT working group, a cross-university team dedicated to reducing Stanford’s carbon footprint through IT initiatives. - Member of Stanford’s University-wide Sustainability Working Group.- Positioned Stanford as the global leader in Sustainable IT in higher education by establishing private sector relationships, speaking at conferences, publishing papers and advising other schools and universities.

- Designed, built & led project management office for IT Services. - Managed a team of up to 11 staff and contract project managers responsible for 75 annual initiatives. - Significantly improved delivery of successful projects across the University.

- Managed relationships with pilot customers, including balancing portfolio of customer requirements and engineering capacity and product roadmap.- Initiated business development activities to identify and sign partners that completed the company product offering.

- Developed new product lines by leveraging company assets. Drove product requirements, identified technology partners, and worked with technical staff to deliver product infrastructure.- Created $7 million product line yielding over $2 million in profit through strategic partnerships.

- Provided strategic and operational consulting on electronic commerce, customer relationship management (CRM), virtual communities, and online marketing to clients in industries ranging from information technology to financial services.- Led personalization initiative in the Electronic Commerce Practice. Managed teams to build McKinsey expertise in online information capture and CRM, including building a trusted brand, managing privacy, increasing retention, developing profiles, and building transaction revenue.

Part of core team that launched PacBell’s dedicated and dial-up Internet access business. Asked to relocate to San Antonio and take on additional regions after the acquisition by SBC in 1997.• Managed product development & marketing to build $15 million Internet access product line (ISDN, Frame Relay, T-1, T-3, SMDS and ATM) and Web hosting services for small and medium enterprises. • Defined target market, branding, product features, pricing & product bundles. Identified, secured and managed partners that offered value-added services on core internet access.• Awarded “Significant Contributor to Pacific Bell Internet.”

- Developed market-entry strategies, identified local partners, assessed training needs & localized product materials for expansion into Latin America. Actively managed external partners to ensure success.- Led several successful channel and business development projects across Latin America, resulting in over $40 million in new business. This includes managing the Macintosh launch in Brazil and successfully converting Mexico from independent distributor to wholly owned subsidiary.
