In a significant overhaul of the Community Involvement program, I introduced programs that were redesigned to engage and encourage employees to give of their talents, time and money. Notable results include:• Volunteer Hours exceeded 2002 benchmark by 10,632 hours• Annual Volunteer Day event expanded to include 300 more employees and 10,000 hours worldwide• Applications for the scholarship program for the children of employees increased by 15%, a 25 year high. Increased external visibility of the program:• 2003 Award Winner: Corporate Volunteer Program, Volunteer Center of San Francisco. Managed and developed application entry and event participation.• 2004 Award Winner: George Bush Corporate Leadership Award, Points of Light Foundation. Robert D. Haas, Levi Strauss & Co. Chairman, was honored in the summer of 2004 for his commitment to community involvement. Managed and developed nomination application and event participation.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the company’s volunteer programs worldwide. Specific duties include: - Coordinating company-wide volunteer activities, such as the Habitat for Humanity house build the company sponsored with Oprah Winfrey’s Angel Network. Over 400 volunteers spent 2400 hours building the home;- Updating volunteerism information on the company’s internal website; - Managing the grantmaking activities of the volunteer groups ($1.8 million);- Implementing the annual United Way campaign, and;- Providing technological expertise on the grants management system, MicroEdge.

Responsible for coordinating logistics for communications efforts worldwide and ensuring consistency of messages to employees and to the public. Specific duties include:- Assisting with speech writing and presentations for company executives;- Writing press releases and coordinating announcements with news wire agencies;- Production of the quarterly financial packets to shareholders;- Management of the corporate biographies and photos; - Managing a weekly summary of business relevant articles for key constituents; - Redesign and maintenance of the corporate brochure and the corporate website, www.levistrauss.com; and,- Working closely with the Product Placement department. This includes writing and distributing press packets to U.S.-based fashion editors, meeting with the editors in New York and presenting the current fashion line for possible product placement.
