As a recruited senior adoption social worker in the United Kingdom, I served the local government performing in home, long term clinical therapeutic assessment and analysis for potential adoptive parents and foster parents.I offered monthly therapeutic group counseling, covering bereavement and grief, to foster parents who were preparing to move children on to their forever families in permanent adoptive homes.Served as a clinical therapeutic trainer in classes’ for child development and adoptive family formation for the recruited potential parent and foster parents. I also specialized in post adoption counseling to adult adoptees and parents of adopted children.I found the opportunity to refine my skills in collecting and collating extensive lifetime data on client(s) who were interested in adoption, or foster care.This data included educational, medical, and police records, as well as multiple assessment interviews from the clients themselves and their family and friends. The collected data created a legal document including a fifty page narrative life story. I was required to extrapolate a critical analysis of the fitness of the client(s) to adopt a child in the United Kingdom (England). My supportive professional opinion included my clinical analysis on the suitability of the candidate(s) which was required and included an additional ten to twenty pages to complete this document. Another mandatory process in this service included my presentation of this document to a governing panel for their query. I was required to substantiate and affirm my findings.
