About Jen Joyce

I need to find a reason, a passion for the work I do. To me, it's not just a paycheck. With Making, it was easy. We were building a safe and diverse space for all makers and a marketplace that is focused on people over profit. Our goal was to do everything different. Lead with compassion and empathy. Break the mold that isn't serving the community and is only serving the people at the top. Delivering this message through our marketing was an absolute dream. I get to meet the most creative and passionate multicraftual people from all around the world and share their beautiful stories. But let's take it back to the beginning. I was launched into my marketing career because someone believed in me. They saw my creativity and passion and let me run with just that. This quickly brought me to a big realization. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE building beautiful community and growing brand love through storytelling, innovative campaigns, and smart strategy with heart. Because my marketing career started in social media (before Instagram was a glimmer in Kevin's eye), and most of my experience has been running at full speed while playing the role of the of the peddler in Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina (this is me trying to find a clever way to say that I always wear many hats), I can't say there isn't a part of marketing I have not had the pleasure to meet. If I don't know how to do something, my superpower is to jump in two feet first. Learn as you go. Perfection is boring. Oh wait. I am not an SEO expert. Hmmmm...I suppose I have something new to learn. ;)When I am not doing the above you can find me in Seattle living with my two goodest boy dogs. Typically knitting while watching TV (the good kind and the bad kind) and enjoying a nice glass of wine but also traveling to my favorite places where my favorite people live, lifting heavy weights for an extra serotonin boost, or getting another tattoo.
