Their input is respected and recognized. And their expertise is taken seriously.Clients have options for individual coaching or small group facilitating sessions. Here are a Few Conflicts That Clients Needed to Resolve• Not feeling heard at meetings• Being too direct and pushy• Dealing with bullies and narcissists• Risk-averse leaders or employees who stay silent • Managing mediocre direct reports • Career development issues• Moderating clashing generationsMy secret sauce is sharing "The Weiss Communication Success Plan" to make conversations safe, build trust, and gain control when others push those hot buttons.Coaching for SuccessA Department Manager engaged me to coach Tiffany, who needed to become direct with her team. Employees continually came to her with complaints about other team members. Tiffany spent too much time acting like a social worker. The executive team was concerned with Tiffany's productivity. She learned a strategy (Be Direct with Respect®). And and coached her team to resolve problems before approaching her. She gained respect from her team and management. Her door is still open, but interruptions are minimal.Tiffany transformed from not knowing how to start a tough conversation to feeling confident using her new communication strategies.Success stories like this one are why I do what I do as a conflict resolution and communication coach. Clients come to me with serious topics, we dig deep, talk, and laugh at how human we are.Contact me anytime. Please send me a connection request and an email at Joyce@JoyceWeiss.com. -

Coach For Emerging LeadersJoyce Weiss Training & Development Llc Nov 2010 - PresentWest Bloomfield, Michigan, United StatesMy experience as a high school teacher helped me develop skills in working with emerging leaders. I still work with our youth and emerging leaders today—it's one of my great passions.Often, emerging leaders are not taken seriously by more experienced team members. They need a plan to feel confident using their voices without losing their cool. Emerging leaders want to be taken seriously. They're intelligent, eager, and have a lot to offer. I coach these new leaders on techniques to communicate their ideas using commanding and persuasive communication while being respectful. Resolving conflict with bullies is a considerable part of my practice and is necessary training for emerging leaders. Discussions range from dealing with a boss who's a bully to how to work with demanding clients and feeling confident using their voices. The result is that their experience and expertise are taken seriously. COACHING FOR SUCCESSA department head sent his direct report, Brian, to me for professional growth coaching. Brian was an emerging leader and was too eager for the promotion. His impatience was getting in his way; he was pushing too hard to get noticed by management. After only a few coaching sessions, Brian discovered many blind spots about himself. His Conflict Dynamic Profile identified his strengths and areas for improvement. As a result of our sessions, he concentrated on his current position and established strong relationships with colleagues, not just with leaders. The results were outstanding. His managers were pleased with the positive change, and Brian eventually received a well-deserved promotion. Please connect with me on LinkedIn. Email any time at Joyce@JoyceWeiss.com. -
Leadership Development CoachJoyce Weiss Training & Development Llc Jun 2014 - PresentWest Bloomfield, Michigan, United StatesAre you feeling stuck in your job, overlooked for a promotion, or tired of your input being unheard? Perhaps your career undermines your expertise, adds stress, and makes you miserable. Leaders tired of feeling overlooked develop their confidence after just a few sessions. They are primed with a fresh outlook and confidence to become more engaged and grow in their career. They are ready to stand out and be noticed—all good in my book.Coaching, for me, is extraordinarily rewarding. I ask curiosity questions that guide my clients to discover their strengths and what they need to do to improve. At that point, they are prepared and eager to work toward their future goals, including a sense of balance in their work and life. COACHING FOR SUCCESSA manager, Ron, was excited to share the new company initiatives with his team on Zoom. We practiced his presentation and slides, and he was ready for the event. The meeting became tense when Ron's supervisor, Linda, stopped her portion of the introduction.Ron's share slide button was stuck. At first, he panicked, then took charge and knew what to do. The problem: Linda was embarrassed and didn't want Ron to make her look bad. She took over the entire presentation.Ron was humiliated in front of his team. Leaders need to empower their employees even when they make mistakes. Linda had no humility, and the team saw her poor leadership skills.Ron and I met afterward, and he shared how he will not be like Linda when he advances in the company. He now understands the importance of humility as a leader. He won't "tell" employees what to do and knows the power of curiosity questions.Success stories like this one are why I do what I do as a leadership development coach. Clients come to me with serious challenges; we talk, resolve, and laugh. The result is that their expertise is taken seriously, and they enjoy going to work again! -

Participants discover and practice the communication strategies. Plus, we discuss and dissect the challenges experienced by class members. COACHING FOR SUCCESSThe CEO of an association asked me to coach Linda, a newly promoted manager, Linda. She signed up to take Kick Conflict to the Curb™ because she expressed self-doubt about her new role. The challenge: Linda was now the manager of her peers. Plus, she was younger than her team. Linda needed solutions to deal with her daily stress in her new position. Linda's direct reports were jealous; they didn't listen. And were rude when she tried to smooth things out. She was frustrated with her team. As a result of taking Kick Conflict to the Curb™, Linda discovered how to "Be Direct with Respect®," which gave her the confidence to start challenging discussions. Plus, she now knows how to make conversations safe. Linda began using Verbal Aikido (a strategy to gain control). She doesn't get defensive when her team pushes her limits. She took the sessions seriously. Her team now respects her because she discovered how to coach them through conflict with her newly perfected skills.Joyce will design a course to address the specific needs of your team. -
