Over the past twenty years, Joy has had a broad array of experiences in Early Childhood Education. Joy has taught toddlers and preschoolers in school districts settings, private, corporate, and church-based childcare. As a teacher, she has developed and implemented developmentally appropriate curriculum while focusing on children’s individual needs. She has had the opportunity to work in classrooms for children with special needs as well as inclusive classrooms. Joy’s classroom was part of the Texas School Ready! Program.Joy has had the opportunity to lead and own childcare centers. During that time, she led centers that became accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and earned a four-star rating from the Texas Rising Star program. Joy’s focus has been on providing quality care while helping others to do the same. Joy has presented trainings at the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children annual conference and has planned two annual conferences for early childcare providers in her county. Joy earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas in August of 2019. The Integrative Studies degree covers several specializations, including Child Development, Rehabilitation, and Adult Learning.
