IUAC, New Delhi is an accelerator based research facility for many science fields viz. nuclear, material sc., atomic, geology ,bio-science, oceanography etc. The centre has a tandem accelerator called pelletron of 15MV potential for accelerating ion beams of various species (from 14C to 108Si). A Superconducting booster LINAC boosts the pelletron energy from around 15MeV per charge state to around 25 MeV per charge state. I am an accelerator physicist with 12 years experience at IUAC. I have worked in the Superconducting LINAC facility at IUAC, and currently involved in the commissioning of Free Electron Laser Based intense THz light source facility. My primary focus has been on the beam optics simulation and the radiation calculations for the facility. With a design range of 0.2 to 3THz the facility will be available for high intensity THz based experiments for research user groups from all over India. The electron beam from the facility will also be available for user experiments.
