In this position, I worked in a multitasking, multiple-projects role. I maintained the division's social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. I collaborated on social media strategy and lead execution of the channels. I created designed materials (flyers, programs, advertisements, and social media posts) for events using the Adobe Suite that were consistent with UVA branding.In my programming role, I coordinated logistics for both in-person and virtual events. I coordinated with speakers and executed contracts for events. I executed communications for events, including social media, print, and digital advertisements. I also communicated and coordinated effectively with vendors, and arranged honorarium for guests.

As a graduate assistant, I assumed many roles for the UGA New Media Institute. I maintained the role of a communications/PR assistant. I advised students taking the certificate, which included talking with students and setting them up on a plan of best course for completing their certificate. I was also the coordinator and writer of the weekly newsletter, which was a weekly update for students with upcoming events, information, opportunities, and internships to pursue. Finally, I was also the coordinator of the NMI's email, in which I received and sent out all external communications for the department. I was a teaching assistant for NMIX 2020 - Intro to New Media during the fall semester in which I led two discussion groups a week, graded, and coordinated logistics for the class. I was also the student coordinator for SLAM, which was the NMI's bi-annual showcase for senior capstone students to present their projects. Finally, I also helped to research and plan the Emerging Media Master's Degree Capstone course, in which students created and delivered a business product with a prototype, trailer, and business model. The class began in August 2017 with the first class of Emerging Media Master's students graduating that December.

In this summer unpaid internship, I worked for my local community college. I was the coordinator of the student and faculty spotlight showcase. In this project, I contacted and interviewed students and faculty who were chosen to be showcased. I then edited and formatted the profiles of each person. The project was a display of PR because it highlighted successful students and faculty at the college and was on display for several months. I created graphics for social media posts for Facebook and Instagram. I also helped to coordinate professional videos that were displayed on the college's social media pages.

I assisted with contacting and giving tours to potential students of the university. This included sending out mail, going to recruiting events, and cold calling students that were interested. I gave tours to individual students, families, and large groups, while portraying campus and answering questions about the school. I also participated in a campaign to help students learn more about different departments of the university. I contacted and interviewed department chairs, then compiled the information. I then made brochures with 'fast facts' on each department to give students.

Wise, Va

I was a resident advisor for 2 school years in which I supervised a hall of 15-20 upperclassmen students. In this role, I planned and executed programs for residents, working with a semester-long budget. I also completed duty one day a week, with several weekends per semester. I assisted with check-in and check-out, which included strict procedures; and kept responsibility for students in 4 different residence halls. I also assisted in emergency situations, including fire drills, student conduct issues, and health issues. I completed Title IX and Clery Act Training as well.

In this internship, I worked mainly as the social media intern for my college's sports information department. I used social media including Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram to share live tweets, photos, and videos with our users. These posts were very interactive and increased viewership and likes of the posts. I also wrote articles for the UVa-Wise sports website and created documents such as programs and fact sheets for handout at sporting events.
