Joye Speight is a serial entrepreneur, creative designer, and builder of atmospheres, experiences, and people. She is constantly inspired by her spiritual connection, meeting new people, traveling, learning and experiencing new cultures.Joye was born and raised in Durham, NC, to a family of serial entrepreneurs stemming from the Hayti era of Black Wall Street. Her family owns one of the only businesses still operating from Black Wall Street, and Joye carries on this tradition of entrepreneurship with her many successful businesses. She is certified as a Meeting Professional (CMP), Wedding Planner (CWP), and holds a hotel and travel license from the International Association of Travel Agents Network (IATAN).Joye started her first company - Virtue Events - with the goal of creating memorable experiences that bring a variety of people from different backgrounds together for a common purpose. Now, Virtue is the largest minority woman-owned event planning team in the Triangle. Virtue is a full service event planning company with passionate certified event planners and designers who specialize in contract negotiation, on-site management, design, and concept development for weddings, social gatherings and corporate events on the East Coast. Joye's clients have entrusted her with producing diverse and multifaceted events that wow attendees and leave long-lasting impressions.With Virtue Events, Joye also does consulting, where she fosters an environment of collaboration and creativity, even in the most challenging of situations. Joye's style of consulting creates an intelligent, rigorous and respectful exploration of ideas. She seeks to spur her clients to expand their awareness of critical issues, employ key decision-making skills; and find innovative ways in order to meet organizational goals.Joye's newest venture is Suite Four - an event venue in downtown Durham that she co-owns with Nick Jordan. Despite the fact that Durham's population is over 35% Black, Suite Four is one of very few Black-owned event venues in the city. Their goal with the venue is to create a safe space for the diversity of Durham to feel comfortable hosting and attending events. Suite Four can be booked for weddings, social and corporate events, photoshoots, and more!Joye has been in the hospitality industry since 2000, with over 20 years of experience. Her other companies include Lotus Florals, Virtuous Lifestyles Candle Line, and an ownership stake in Speight Auto Group
