Bringing Hawaii's first ever VegFest to the islands to strengthen the local, plant-based community and be the tipping point towards more sustainable island perspectives. VegFest Oahu is a free community festival celebrating plant-based, sustainable living. VegFest Oahu’s mission is to offer the community a fun-filled opportunity to experience the many benefits of choosing plant-based foods and lifestyle to increase and maintain good health, contribute to a solution for climate change, and encourage compassion for animal welfare. We offer tools and inspiration to make following a plant-based diet easier and to build a supportive and engaged local, plant-based community. We are developing an approach called Aloha Activism that focuses on sharing our messages of compassion, health and sustainability in funny, loving, inspiring, thought provoking, inclusive, nurturing and encouraging ways. We want to create a family-friendly experience that will result in transformational change for our island community.Attendees can: Taste delicious vegan food from local restaurants and food businesses. After 15 years using grassroots strategies to inspire positive community change, I am now working with AFA to influence Congress spending on agriculture via the Farm Bill. Accomplishments so far: develop AFA brand messaging including writing the "brand story", consult on narrative for lobby kits, facilitate brainstorm meetings with AFA team and industry stakeholders, policy research for identifying legislative opportunities for change, facilitate Pep Rallies for citizen engagement with organization members, consult on sponsorship strategy, developed avatar for target audience.

Manage a group of volunteers sharing home cooked healthy vegetarian meals, good cheer and encouragement to the homeless in Honolulu every week. Responsible for smooth operations of project, communication amongst volunteers, cooking, serving food, and fundraising efforts in the community. Created an Enrichment Arts program to teach visual storytelling and video production skills to youth. Developed original curriculum with emphasis on group brainstorming for ideas, creating storyboards, exploring different roles of the production team, basic camera operation, interviewing techniques, performance and presentation strategies, and working as a team to complete video project. Funded in part by the Department of Education's 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant (21CCLC).

Member of Leadership Team for a residential arts camp for youth ages 9 – 17. Responsible for entire Video Media Arts Program, including: curriculum planning, managing staff of instructors and keeping the youth project groups on track for successful completion of their original video stories for public screenings during Performance Weeks.

Worked directly with Institute Director to develop educational videos based on the Bragg Healthy Lifestyle for distribution on company website and DVDs.  Topics included:  carbon footprint of food, organic gardening, and healthy eating.

Produced TV series for Time Warner Cable, broadcast throughout state of Hawaii to over 1 million households. Responsible for branding, content ideas, getting commercial sponsors, budgeting, managing production team, editing and delivery of new episode every week. Find free vegan recipes and cooking videos (featuring different local Hawaii chefs) on our Tasty and Meatless website. We also produced three Tasty and Meatless Video Cookbooks: “Beans and Greens”, “Hawaii’s Local Favorites Made Meatless” and “I Can’t Believe It’s Tofu!” which can be purchased there.

Developed unique afterschool program to address the “youth at risk” at Kalihi Elementary. Facilitated kids to write skits with moral lessons that taught ethics and how to react in difficult school situations. Used video camera recordings to provide feedback to kids and improve their communication skills. Produced video documentary: Happy School, to show tremendous positive change in the at-risk students as a result of this program.
