Joy Harrison-Abiola is a leading legal management professional with over 25 years’ experience as a business professional. She had previously worked in advertising, finance and securities before moving to the legal industry 20 years ago. She works from the Lagos office of Adepetun Caxton-Martins Agbor & Segun- ACAS-Law as the Practice Administrator overseeing the business aspects of the Law Firm, having under her supervision the Accounts, Administrative, IT, Human Resources departments and the other two branch offices in Abuja and Port Harcourt. As a member of the management committee, Joy embodies the entrepreneurial spirit, bringing objectivity and passion to the practice, driving strategic planning, offering practical solutions and direction to effectively address day to day and long term business challenges. In 2008, Joy was instrumental in putting together the first law firm management development program (MDP) at the Lagos Business School (LBS) Pan-African University in collaboration with the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) Lincolnshire Illinois USA. She is also one of the conveners of the Practice Administrators Forum (PAF) Nigeria. A group which in the past 10 years has been dedicated to promote and enhance the competence and professionalism of legal business support staff and committed to improving the general quality of management in the legal industry. Joy is a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management Nigeria (ISMN). She is also a member of the Association of Legal Administrators Illinois since 2004 and was nominated as a member of the International Relations Committee (Africa). Her other affiliations includes - Chartered Management Institute UK, Nigerian Institute of Management, International Trademark Association - co-chaired the TMA Practitioners Networking and Outreach sub-committee. And presently a Member of the Trademark Office Practices Sub-Committee for Africa Trademark Office Relations (TOPC SC_ATMOR).
