Perform needs assessmentsDesign and develop training on whatever is required (from off-the-shelf software to customized financial applications)Facilitate one-on-one and group training sessionsEvaluate the impact of training initiatives on the organizationCreate online documentation as needed. One of the initiatives I was involved in was the roll-out of a new financial system for the agency. The vendor was in for approximately 4 months. I worked with them and the subject matter experts in customizing the system as well as documenting procedures and new workflows. Since it impacted the entire agency in different ways I organized training sessions based on individual job role and what tasks related to each job. Everyone in the agency however needed to learn time sheets and expense sheets for example but account management staff also needed to know how to do purchase orders. For the Finance/Accounting department in particular the main thrust of my work was in documenting the "back office" tasks such as monthly closing, account reconciliation, run reports, post cash, etc. These tasks were primarily documented in paper initially, then converted to online. No actual stand-up training occurred for these pieces.
