He won the 1st prize at Marguerite Long–Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris in 1967, and the 2nd prize at Beethoven Competition in Vienna in 1965. He also won awards at the Chopin Competition and the Tchaikovsky Competition.Edward Auer debuted in Carnegie Hall at 25 with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. He has collaborated with distinguished conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Charles Dutoit, Herbert Blomstedt, Riccardo Chailly, and has performed as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National Paris, NHK Tokyo, RIAS Orchestra Berlin, Detroit Symphony Orchestra Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; and many others. He has toured in more than 30 nations in the 5 continents. Recognized as one of the leading interpreters of Chopin, he has toured in Poland for more than 20 times.Edward Auer has made numerous recordings, most of which have been issued on EMI, RCA, Erato, Camerata Tokyo, TownHall, Clarity Records, Brilliant Classics, and his own label Culture Demain, cofounded with producer Max Wilcox who produced records with Rubinstein for 17 years.Edward Auer is currently a Professor of Piano at the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University in the United States. He served on juries in major competitions, including the Chopin Competition and the Marguerite Long–Jacques Thibaud Competition.
