As part of my education in attaining a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, I performed an internship in the Psychiatric Department of the University Hospital – UZ Brussel.In summary, I was responsible for the establishment of psychiatric diagnoses (from intake interview through testings - personality, cognitive and neuropsychological - to set up of first steps for treatment and therapy) of both hospitalized psychiatric patients and outpatients. Majority of diagnoses were Personality Disorders but I also profiled patients with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other Psycho-pathologies.Overview of my responsibilities, including but not limited to:• Perform intake interviews with patients• Summarize information and formulate goals with patient• Formulate diagnostic questions and hypotheses• Select basic package of Personality Tests & Intelligence Tests based on initial patient information• Explain manual of different Personality Tests that patients have to fill out individually• Perform various intelligence and cognitive tests with patients• Score tests and analyze results• Evaluate the need for additional testings or a change of focus in testings• Research and study related literature• Discuss findings and conclusions with supervisor• Participate in team meetings, share results and temporary conclusions with other team members, review findings and conclusions together with additional information from other team members• Formulate final conclusion and write report documenting all phases of the diagnostic process• After approval from supervisor, share diagnoses with patients and provide additional information on specific diagnosis• Set up first steps for treatment and therapy• Attended several seminars related to Psycho-pathologies and Diagnostics
