PROJECT DONE: VLSI implementation of Barrel distortion correction in wide angle camera images based on FPGA December 2009 — March 2010 (4 months)Description:Wide angle camera images suffer from Barrel distortion i.e, the outer regions of image are more compressed than the inner one.To correct this distortion efficiently, a single dedicated hardware chip is embedded on the camera.Existing technique to correct distortion:Software like Photoshop, panorama tools.In existing VLSI architecture, the Programming algorithm involves complex shifting and square root operation, leading to high power consumption.Proposed VLSI technique to correct distortion:Least mean square algorithm is used to minimize the distortion effectively.The power consumption is reduced and only less amount of space is involved.HDL used : VerilogDesign tools used : ModelSim, Altera 9.0.Specialties: verilog programming in xilinx, altera, ;; simlation using model simlation.
