As the Regional Innovation Officer for the EDA-designated APM Tech Hub, my role is to drive consortium member collaboration, alignment and strategy for the 44-member APM Tech Hub. I work with teams and leaders to build and enhance organizational culture through thoughtfully designed strategy work. I help develop and hire the right people and build impactful programs and processes that support the organizations intentions and impact.

In the continuation of the work our team did with the Health Innovation Consortium (Design Thinking, Innovation and New Ventures), I support VCU Health in shaping the strategy for how this work is coming to life alongside of Care Transformation at the Health System.

I had been wanting to take time off from working life for a LONG time; and in 20+ years working I never had done so – no summers off, no gap year -- so after months of contemplation, in June of 2019 I did just that. It’s a good thing to get to choose, and I can attest to the fact that it is a very hard thing to actually do, especially as I have always been so passionate about my work and the teams I have been on along the way. So, in June of 2019 I intentionally took this pause…not leaping into the next thing, but spending time traveling. I then moved cross country to plant myself closer to family and finally dove into the massive stack of books and self-reflection work list I've been building for "when I have the time." HR strategic business partner for 1.5B Euro business with eight global sites and ~2300 employees. Responsible for leading talent development, strategic workforce planning, culture & engagement activation and performance management, as well as recruiting and developing a 15-member cross-functional management team.Key Contributions: - Rebuilt management team; sourcing, recruiting and on-boarding >50% of team in ~10 months- Developed and led execution of quarterly strategy off-site design and facilitation; including integration of strategic and operational planning processes- Lead team and individual executive and top-talent leadership development programming, centered on innovation capability building- Drove HR functionality, change management and integration of Munich-based acquisition- Designed and led business’ diversity, equity and inclusion program, including training in mindfulness, manager effectiveness, unconscious bias, customer centricity, psychological safety and personal branding

One of five asked to design, develop and execute a strategy to transform Philips Imaging business to address value-based care. Led US and China focused customer insights development, value proposition definition, customer experience design and go-to-market strategy for multiple product lines to grow the business to a 100M Euro business with >150 FTE via organic and inorganic development. Stood-up a SAFe software development team in Bangalore and co-owned product definition and development for a SaaS platform. Responsible for team of ~20 direct and indirect reports in marketing, strategic planning, operating planning, business development and organizational design.Key Achievements:• Developed voice of the customer research to reset the standard for integrated marketing; awarded Philips Marketing Excellence Award for Value Proposition and Global Market Collaboration (2017)• Co-led product management and ramp-up of SAFe SW development team in Bangalore, India. • Business Leadership team awarded Philips CEO Innovation Award (2017)

Responsible for product management and clinical marketing for MR-guided high intensity focused ultrasound for the non-invasive treatment of uterine fibroids and bone metastasis. Developed and managed patient and academic advisory groups and training in women’s health and oncology as well as drove publication strategy, including co- authoring peer-reviewed publications, clinical training and scientific white papers. Responsible for driving regulatory and reimbursement efforts in US and GER and driving a multi-vendor global patient registry.Key Achievements:• Living and working outside my home country; and learning more about global work than a sentence or two might ever capture.• Co-led the organizational redesign of the product creation and customer experience processes; awarded Management Award for Customer Experience Org Design (2012)• Awarded Management Award for Global Clinical Advisory Board Development (2013)

Non-profit start-up with the mission to revolutionize minimally invasive cancer care. Responsible for patient support organization development and global partnerships, including building medical and patient advisory boards. Responsible for the design, as well as the scientific and business leadership of industry, academia, and government collaborative strategic initiatives in oncology (targeted drug delivery, specifically). Presented at numerous national and international meetings.Key Achievements:• Founded international patient support organization (Fibroid Relief; www.fibroidrelief.org)• Successfully designed and led multiple advisory and scientific conferences

Designed and launched Fibroid Relief.org, a patient support organization for women with uterine fibroids. Responsible for vision, strategy, branding, marketing and execution from the ground up. Utilized social media advertising in early 2008 to create an online forum of thousands of patients nationally and internationally to provide information and access to the full range of treatment options, as well as organized live awareness events with complementary and western providers in numerous locations in the US and UK. Partnered with providers, health systems, insurers and patient advocacy groups to develop scientific publications to help drive the shift of awareness and access for patients.
