Sabbatical

I had been wanting to take time off from working life for a LONG time; and in 20+ years working I never had done so – no summers off, no gap year -- so after months of contemplation, in June of 2019 I did just that. It’s a good thing to get to choose, and I can attest to the fact that it is a very hard thing to actually do, especially as I have always been so passionate about my work and the teams I have been on along the way. So, in June of 2019 I intentionally took this pause…not leaping into the next thing, but spending time traveling. I then moved cross country to plant myself closer to family and finally dove into the massive stack of books and self-reflection work list I've been building for "when I have the time." If you're curious about the experience, the terrifying and exhilarating leap, or how long it took me to reset from the endless tether to my phone and inbox, or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask.
