Equity Before Birth is a 501(c)3 Black maternal health organization providing pregnancy related support to local mamas. We cover the cost of doula services, midwifery care, transportation to appointments, therapy, perinatal education and essential baby items. We also host a cohort to help close the gap for working families who do not receive paid maternity leave by providing financial support.

Project Assistant for the Training and Implementation Program at the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress at Duke University. Ensure the successful execution of projects pertaining to the training and implementation of evidence-based treatments used to improve outcomes for children and families with traumatic experiences.• Coordinate the development of marketing materials, graphics, and handouts• Manage the administrative aspect of collaborative working groups and projects (manage communication, track action items, create timelines, collect data, provide status updates, design presentation materials, etc.) • Provide essential administrative and logistical support to Program Directors (schedule meetings with key collaborators, manage calendars, coordinate travel arrangements and reimbursements, organize conference/event materials and resources, etc.)• Set metric goals, gather project metrics and develop weekly and monthly reports for NCCTS and SAMHSA

Spearhead policy, advocacy and youth engagement initiatives on behalf of a coalition of child, youth and family serving organizations. Educate and empower youth and their families; maintain relationships with key policymakers to evoke change and resolve challenges with accessing mental health care.• Manage and coordinate youth engagement activities (conferences, conference calls, workshops, webinars, social media campaigns, etc.)• Develop materials and resources (fact sheets, marketing flyers, information packets, articles, publications, etc.)• Manage company listservs, social media accounts and mass communication• Advocate to federal Senators and Representatives on behalf of children, youth and their families; generate facts for federal educational campaigns; represent FFCMH on several national coalitions and political caucuses • Coordinate and execute national conferences, trainings and federal legislative briefings, annually

Provide mentorship and academic assistance to high school students, with a focus on college preparation. Work face to face with the students to set action plans to help achieve personal and academic goals. In addition, assist teachers with planning lessons and grading papers and participate in student groups such as the “100 Strong Women” after school program and the “African American Male Initiative” class.
