Curious? 😎 Read on… ✨I looove languages. My grandfather was a linguist living and working in Thailand and Myanmar. I grew up hearing stories of his adventures and dreamed that one day I too would be a big-brained language wrangler, traveling the world and solving problems. At the time I didn’t really understand what a linguist was, so I likened it to a detective who solved mysteries using the power of languages. When I stumbled upon American Sign Language it was like a key to a secret world. It was beautiful, mysterious, and full of creative expression. I am amazed this same mystery and creative expression exists within program languages as well - each one opens a door to a world of information just waiting to be played with! I looove a good transformation story. From shows like “House Hunters” and “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo”, to seeing my friend’s 1970’s wood paneling become a state-of-the-art kitchen, witnessing and being part of transformation is immensely satisfying. I find work projects to be very similar. When transforming data there are setbacks, triumphs, sometimes tears (and a few too many late night RedBulls), but always exciting results. It is rife with persistence, dedication, passion, and a few pointed fingers at the monitor “ha! I got you!” Even when the end product is unexpected, the information learned throughout is invaluable. I looove solving problems. Growing up I was always that “I’ve got a solution to your problem” friend. A natural born communicator and peace-maker, they could always count on me to find creative fixes to their problems with clarity and diplomacy. Whether it was relationships, feedback on writing assignments, how to best organize a junk drawer, or what to pack for a one week trip to Nepal using only one carry-on item - I was your gal. I looove humans: what we think, why we do what we do, how the body works, and what drives us. In short, I think humans are neat. I would love to live and play in the world of data with other humans like me. I want to be someone’s go-to “I’ve a got a solution to your problem” gal.
