About João Campos
I began studies in jazz and later on in classical music. Completed the guitar course in Oporto and followed superior studies in classical guitar at ESMAE where I also attended the Course of Ancient Music in baroque flute (traverso). Throughout my eclectic musical journey that begins in the field of Jazz music (School Jazz Porto), Rock and Blues (Ar de Blues, Ad Lib) passes through Flamenco (Manel d'Oliveira & Mediterraneo), Fado and Bolero (Maria do Ceo), World Music (Atlantihda) and simultaneously extends the classical music (Guitar's Ensemble, Trissonância, etc..) I participated in several projects on instrumental and / or vocals, both solo and in chamber music and played in recitals, concerts, animations, events, courses and master classes and developed work on acting both in comic plays and musicals (Café com Datas, A Queda de um Anjo). I also participated in several video and audio recordings in the field of vocal and instrumental music (Orfeão Harmonia, Scherzo Vocal , Ensemble Vocal , Clepsidra, Trissonância, Atlantihda). I carry out a regular concerts activity both solo and in band and carry out projects both in the Classical and in World Music scene with classical guitar and flute where I frequently create my own arrangements and improvise. Side by side with the musician career I also keep on with my teaching activity as a classical guitar and chamber music teacher, which I began in 1995.
