Hi! I'm João, a Portuguese entrepreneur currently based in London, the 8th country I have lived and worked in. I have the joy of sharing my life with Ana, my amazing wife and we are blessed with four grown up children. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit having launched and operated several businesses since the early 1990’s. From 2012, I have been a business angel investing in several early-stage businesses such as marine salvage, premium pet food, payment apps, healthy soft drinks, sports tech and my own business club. In August 2023, the sports tech company I invested in and was a Non-Executive Director, One Hundred Group Ltd, invited me to become their Chief Operating Officer and I joyfully accepted. In July 2024, I became the company’s CEO.One Hundred Group Ltd organizes the World Championship of Endurance Trail Mountain Running. This Championship attracts athletes and teams from around the world to trail run races of 100 kms, 100 miles and 200 miles in the mountains, bringing together thousands of outdoor enthusiasts and millions of global spectators. Trail running is the fastest growing outdoor sport in the world for the past 10 years.The 2022/23/24 editions of the World Championship had races in Portugal, Brazil, UK and Italy. In 2025, the Championship takes place in Portugal, UAE, Costa Rica, Brazil, UK, Italy, Indonesia, India, Iceland, Mexico and Morocco. From the 2025 edition, the One Hundred Endurance Trail World Championship has 2 Series, the Premier Series and the Alliance Series. The Premier Series consists of flagship events entirely organized by One Hundred®, including locations, course design, logistics and participant engagement. These races are marketed globally and managed by the core One Hundred® team to ensure world-class quality.The Alliance Series consists of independent affiliated races that are already established and join the One Hundred® Endurance Trail World Championship under a strategic partnership. While these events maintain local character, they align with One Hundred® standards for quality, branding and safety.
