JP Chartier was born in beautiful Brandon, Manitoba, and is proudly Métis.In 1981, JP’s family moved to Tahsis, followed by Campbell River, and JP has lived on Vancouver Island ever since. After graduating from Robron Secondary School in 1986, JP worked at a printing press company as a lithographer for three years. He would set up the printing plates, add the ink, and print out business cards and letterhead for businesses around town. Later, JP expanded his work experience with lumber mill and construction work.In 1999, JP moved south to Nanaimo, where he met his wife, Bett, and began manufacturing screen doors at Eclipse Technologies. It was at Eclipse that JP first discovered VMAC, in a rather unconventional way: VMAC and Eclipse Technologies used the same shipping company and, when JP helped the drivers load the screen doors into their trucks, he noticed the VMAC boxes—and there were lots of them! It was this simple sign of success that led JP to check out our company and join the VMAC family in 2005.JP started in VMAC’s sales and tech department when the two teams were still a single unit. At that time, JP and his colleagues were responsible for sales, tech support, warranty work, and aftercare, giving JP an abundance of knowledge about VMAC. After substantial company growth, the team divided in 2014, and JP became dedicated to tech support.On September 24, 2018 JP moved to the marketing team, where he will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to qualify new leads and follow up with sales inquiries. This position will improve VMAC’s ability to assist potential new customers and generate new sales.Outside of work, JP enjoys target shooting and home renovation projects. He recently finished building a faux fireplace in his home and is always finding small improvements to work on. From floors and doors to carpets and windows, JP is happy to work on it all!JP and Bett have a large family with four adult children and 5 grandkids. They are in the process of adopting two of their grandchildren. JP likes taking the pair to festivals and cultural events and loves spending quality time with his family.
