I worked in IFISC-UIB as a postdoctoral scholar in the project titled 'Adaptive Optical Dendrites'. I had explored Dendritic Computation in Multimode Optical Fibres and the implications of ICO (Input Correlations Only) Learning in Photonic Systems, the latter shows promising results in the biomedical sector.

As an Assistant Professor here, I had instructed the students in Statistical Physics, Quantum Physics, Mathematical Methods of Physics and Astrophysics and Cosmology. In addition to this, I had also instructed the students in Python programming and helped them to solve problems of Linear Regression, Evaluation of Special Functions and Numerical Solution of Linear Equations using Gaussian Elimination and Gauss-Siedel Method.

I completed my doctorate from the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2019. My PhD thesis is titled 'Nonlinear Dynamics in Parity-Time Symmetric Optical Systems' and therein, I reported the numerous nonlinear phenomena that could be observed in photonic systems such as turbulent chaos, transient chaos, extreme events, periodic noise signals and so on.

I worked as a Junior Research Fellow in the project entitled ’Parity-time Symmetry in Nonlinear Optics’ funded by the Department of Science and Technology - Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India (DST-SERB). During this period, I co-authored the following publication from my work in this project.S. K. Gupta, J. P. Deka and A. K. Sarma, European Physical Journal D 69, 199 (2015).

I was awarded the Indian Academy of Sciences' Summer Research Fellowship to work under the supervision of Prof. Dipankar Bhattacharyya in the Inter University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics. In this fellowship, one of the most important lesson that I learnt is solving the mathematical model of a system on pen and paper and solving the same in a computer simulation is two entirely different jobs and this helped me a lot during my PhD.
