As the founder and CEO of ViAn Therapeutics, I work to improve the efficacy, safety, and convenience of antiangiogenic therapy with novel peptidic drugs for ophthalmology and oncology. My company, which I launched in 2023 with the support of IndieBio, aims to address the unmet medical needs of patients with neovascular diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration and cancer. My passion for creating innovative solutions stems from my extensive research experience and education in cell and molecular biology, therapeutics, and biotechnology. I hold a PhD, MS, and BS from the National University of Mexico (UNAM), where I currently conduct postdoctoral research on the mechanism of action of a new, orally active, antiangiogenic peptide. I have published 14 peer-reviewed articles, filed one international patent application, and received multiple awards and honors for my scientific contributions. I also enjoy mentoring, teaching, and collaborating with other researchers and entrepreneurs in my field.
