A telecommunications company. I started as a Network Support Engineer at Plessey. Worked in a team environment where we looked after Plessey in Midrand and in Richards drive where the Projects division was located. I became the Network Manager and moved to Cape Town as the Head Office was in Retreat. Soon afterwards Dimension Data (DD) bought Plessey. Management of Plessey did a Management buyout of the factory which became Tellumat. Going on holiday with your furniture is not recommended :). I opted then not to join EDS, they did the IT Infrastructure support for DD at the time. I resigned and relocated back to Pretoria and joined the Video lab Group.

Electronic Warfare (EW) Company, designing, building and maintaining custom EW systems for the SANDF.I was responsible for training on various systems for the SANDFWas Managing a CBT training facility at 5 Signal Regiment called Vertex had 107 computers linked via Arcnet and Ethernet for Technology-based training. Training consisted of Static, Mobile and Tactical EW systems. GST was designated to build and maintained EW systems for the SANDF. Due to signing the official secrets act cant be more specific.

Trained as a Brigade Signals Officer, specialising in Electronic Warfare (EW) at the 5 Signals Regiment in Wonderboom. Experience gained at this time proved to be invaluable. Did my 2-year mandatory military service and did 6 months of short service at 5 Signal Regiment. Worked in all three, Static, Mobile and Tactical elements.Was posted to 513TP Oshakati in South West Africa. Covered all aspects of the EW, COMINT, SIGINT, and ELINT. I was in charge of various tasks and got a Commendation Certificate from the Chief of the Defence Force for my work there. (Seldom that NSM get one) Detached to 61 MEG for tactical EW. I gained a lot of knowledge and experience during this operational time. 61 MEG has a rich history and was involved in most operations in Angola. During my short service time was in charge of 55 SQN which was operational throughout South Africa in covert operations. Due to signing the official secret act, I can't be more specific.
