Work included all facets of Network Engineering, System Administration & IT Support. Some of the responsibilities of this position include: Configuring switches, routers, firewalls for a multi-location enterprise organization. Manage remote VPN access. Support and manage a VMware infrustructure with over 40 Windows and Linux Servers in 2 seperate 3 server farms. Manage storage utilizing EMC VNX series SAN's. All data is replicted between offices that are almost 1000 miles apart in near real time using EMC Recover point. Time is also spent building and customizing servers and workstations. Configuring user, group and machine level security policies in Windows Active directory. Creating documentation and Standard operating procedures for the IT department. Set up of email accounts and storage allocation on Microsoft Exchange Server. Implementing, executing and testing backup and disaster recovery procedures. Involved with typical end user support including hardware and software installation as well as trouble shooting and new equipment installation. Configuring and maintaining of network printers & copiers. maintaining and supporting a multi-site VoIP phone system

Responsible for all voice and data equipment/systems for the Chicago region. Maintained user accounts in a Microsoft Windows multi-domain environment, managed Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange Server. Managed daily support and help desk operations for over 150 workstations in a LAN/WAN environment which included a corporate office / warehouse and 16 retail locations. Acted as Systems Administrator/Engineer for all voice and telephone systems, including Nortel Option 11 with Meridian Mail, Nortel Norstar, and Lucent/Avaya systems. Successfully supported the implementation of national call center using VoIP. Significant programming experience for Nortel Norstar telephone systems. Reported directly to company CIO, providing technical support to executive staff. Worked as part of the IT team implementing SOX compliance for our national IT department

Responsible for scheduling and time management for multiple custom home installation crews. Worked as a liaison between the sales staff, the custom installation crew, and our customer. Was familiar with the work involved and the advanced product we were installing to efficiently and accurately schedule complex jobs. Worked on the creation of detailed documentation that eventually became the standard used by Tweeter on a national level. Created scripts and a custom application to export sales data from our POS system into Microsoft Excel to compute complex commission reports for high end sales people. Designed and diagramed several complex satellite distribution systems.

Responsibilities included technical sales, office automation including creation of custom applications for transferring data between Unix and Windows systems. Created several PC-based programs to address specific business concerns. Worked on the creation of the companies original Web site.
