Hi there! I'm Julius, the CTO of Simsi, a startup that breaks down public health and crime outcomes into smaller, addressable problems by studying the patterns of where they happen and the points of interest nearby. Basically, we are the best way to analyze crime data and overdoses for spatial patterns, while purposely requiring a human analyst to interpret results and encourage collaboration.We focus on places, not people, to analyze data that drives action instead of admiring the problem. Risk Terrain Modeling (RTM) was invented at Rutgers University and is backed by over 70 peer-reviewed papers and has since proven itself in places like Dallas, Newark (NJ), London, and Kansas City. Small towns to big cities, seasonal and year-round destinations. Some places are more vulnerable than others, and we can find them.Unlike other methods, RTM is inclusive and encourages using other tools for different parts of implementation, with RTM being a guide for prioritization and responsibility matching. Why do something if the data suggests it would be much more appropriate for a different agency, like Parks or Planning? Our platform reveals insights like those about any data with a spatial component.
