Tech lead on the Core Search team at Splunk. My team is responsible for the code running all searches at Splunk, both on-prem / cloud.Some of my recent projects include:- Designed / implemented a new hybrid schema system which delivers both the flexibility of search-time + the performance of index-time fields.- Designed / implemented from scratch aggregation / distributed statistics for large datasets (Splunk's bread-and-butter stats command) - included designing a custom file format, improved performance by 4x- Designed / implemented lookups/join functionality - re-architected lookups to allow easily adding new data sources to join against while improving performance. Other projects:- Tech lead on designing / implementing Splunk's search observability / telemetry framework used by all platform teams at Splunk.- Optimizing search queries with semantic analysis/AST. Contributed to Splunk's search optimizer framework.- Worked on components of the Splunk Cloud Services / conf system connecting search catalog and splunkd.

I worked on the MoPub platform backend at Twitter which handles ~25B ad requests each day helping connect advertisers with app publishers on mobile devices, helping make it more performant, scalable and reliable. - Worked on the adserver as well as both demand and supply sides of the mopub marketplace exchange, implementing features / changes as required.- Designed and launched multiple services from scratch, lowering auction latency (2x reduction) and helping bring about a material increase in revenue sources for Mopub / Twitter.- Wrote offline scalding/analysis jobs to perform experiments and confirm hypotheses / causal analysis / AB testing.

I worked on Splunk's backend - Search and Indexing (C++/Python). Fixed bugs, focused on performance enhancement and scaling the backend infrastructure to remove bottlenecks and handle production indexing/search loads.

Worked on components of the Hybrid cloud backend of system center/Azure which include features relating to VM triggers, SCSPF (System center service provider foundation) and Service manager.

System software development (C/C++) on the Playstation 3 and Google TV (Java) using v8/webkit/rhino. (Underlying platform for Amazon Instant Video and Hulu Plus on PS4). Also worked on the origins of the Playstation Store on PS4 (Javascript). Worked on PS3 (virtual) control systems in C#/C++.

Interned with the UBM team on the DVB-H (mobile-tv) project. Worked on refactoring code and helping to develop test frameworks. Mostly wrote C and BREW code.
