Solving problems through better listening.The work I do with Cast & Hue is usually human-centered whether it's uncovering insights, driving innovation, or designing experiences. That means my approach to solving any problem is to adopt the perspective of the people experiencing it.I use a mixed methods approach to research with interviews, surveys, virtual discussion boards, user testing and ethnography. I’ll then find themes or insights that better define and solve wicked problems through strategic recommendations or some type of design sprint. These outputs come to life as needs-based personas, journey maps, product prototypes, communication strategies or experience blueprints.Most of my approach is inspired by a couple different disciplines or theories that seek to understand human interaction and decision-making, most notably Jobs-to-be-Done theory, Systems Thinking, Design Thinking, Futurism and Behavior Change.I’m inspired by simple design, nature, permaculture and the power of mindsets. I'm at home outdoors whether it’s hiking, climbing or biking. I also volunteer as a certified master gardener for Maricopa County where I teach others how to grow green things in the desert.
