J. Patrick Dolan manages the Statistics Office for the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security and has worked for 16 years to improve the quality of information available to traffic safety stakeholders and support and encourage data-driven decision making. He is co-chair of the Tennessee Traffic Records Coordinating Committee, and is the president of the Association of Transportation Safety Information Professionals (ATSIP). As a founding member of the TITAN Business Unit Patrick was an integral part of the team that achieved all electronic crash reporting in Tennessee in January 2015. Patrick oversaw the deployment of the nation's first statewide crash forecasting models. His team conducted further research with Yale University and USDOT Volpe Center on crash forecasting that culiminated in the publication of their research in the Transportation Research Record of the National Academy of Sciences. Most recenlty Patrick led the development and deployment of a business intelligence tool for the dissemination and analysis of transportation safety information to the Deparmtent of Safety and other traffic safety stakeholders. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Music from Belmont University, and a B.S. in Mathematics and M.A. in Music from Middle Tennessee State University. He is a 2019 graduate of the Tennessee Government Management Institute. He currently lives with his family and pets in Nashville where you might spot him prowling at night with a saxophone.
