A project to build a wearable smart garment for a major clothing manufacturer. The project was canceled.

Lathrop Engineering, who was acquired by Paramit Corporation in July 2016, provides custom product development services for the biotech and IVD medical device markets. Projects included development of a flow cytometer prototype and a handheld bio-threat assessment instrument using DNA analysis.

Freeslate develops semi-custom robotic platforms and laboratory workflows for various chemical and biological applications worldwide. The only electrical engineer in the company, I was ultimately responsible for all electrical issues related to Freeslate products. I designed and shipped 10 new printed circuit assemblies, including an 8 channel pressure controller, a 12 channel temperature controller, and a 4 channel temperature limit controller. I approved components and system wiring diagrams, and supported production, and field service. I also led efforts to obtain CE marks for Freeslate products. Technologies included ARM7 microprocessors, CAN bus, Elmo motion controllers, thermocouples, pressure sensors, heaters, servomotors, and RS-485.

Developed a next-generation intravascular ultrasound instrument.

Developed PC based servowriter instruments and technology for use in state of the art disk drive applications. Technolgies included Altera Stratix-3 FPGAs, C++, DC motors, high resolution encoders, PID servo controls, and Bode plots.

Developed the iLab intravascular ultrasound instrument, which included a Xilinx FPGA and a 200 MHz 12 bit ADC.

Led the development of the Galaxy intravascular ultrasound instrument from early prototypes through market evaluation testing, human use, and product launch. Maintained program schedules, resource allocations, and budgets, while leading a team of more than 20 engineers. Provided technical input to regulatory resources in support of a 510(k) submission for a class 2 medical device. Reviewed and approved the technical content of the 510(k). Obtained UL, CSA, and CE mark approvals for the Galaxy system.

Responsible for the system architecture and specifications of the Galaxy system. Participated in design reviews and approved more than 22 new circuit designs.
