As part of the Public Health Investigations team, my core work includes routine inspections and general compliance of food facilities and private/public schools K-12. In addition to the core work, investigation of communicable disease complaints, licensing approval for food facilities, general investigative correspondence per the business need. Train/educate new staff within the department and at licensed establishments with employees and management regarding Denver County Code and Regulation.Guide stakeholders in HACCP per the Denver Code and Regulation. Aid the City of Denver in changing public health needs inclusive of Hepatitis A Outbreak 2019, and COVID 19 Outbreak.

The responsibilities for my position vary by season, from inspections of indoor/outdoor swimming facilities, hotels,youth camps, tattoo studios, mobile home parks, schools, to collecting samples from waste water treatment plants to following up on dog bite cases and public complaints. No day is ever the same as the next.

- Responsible for water quality monitoring, specifically, collecting and analyzing water samples for chlorine using DPD powder and Reagent, received tutorial on Colilert Coliform Lab Analysis - Reported data and results in a timely manner and ensured public health standards were met at all times-Provided training of sampling technique and SOPs to new interns-Assisted in bed bug inspections, food inspections, tattoo studio inspections, swimming pool inspections, on-site septic inspections
