This position was complementary to the School Special Educational Needs Coordinator, who primarily supported students with educational and learning difficulties. My role was to propose and implement programmes to support 'gifted and talented' (G&T) students. This involved running a weekly after-school club, developing a register of G&T students, disseminating information to subject teachers to help them challenge and support G&T students, disseminating information to G&T students and their families about national and local programmes.
