Architect and lead engineer of the framework for ControlScan’s second generation portal, a Single Page Web Application frontend to a RESTful API backend. Rather than jump right into developing the new application, we built this framework first which enables primarily backend developers to create beautiful, modern, HTML5 frontends that adhere to UX best practices. All of the business logic is in the API backend, so there’s a strict separation of business logic and presentation logic, also a best practice.Architect and lead engineer of ControlScan’s ASV Scanning solution; the core of ControlScan’s business (they are an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV)). While leading this team, I was also the manager of ControlScan’s DevOps group. I was like a “player coach”, managing the team while actively participating in the development and deployment activities.Architect of ControlScan’s server virtualization and high availability strategy. With this solution, ControlScan’s physical servers operate at maximum efficiency and capacity, with failover mechanisms in place to ensure maximum uptime.
