Transition and Transformation of NASDAQ OMX Network

Nordic Processor is a joint Venture between IBM and NORDEA, the leading financial services group in the Nordic and Baltic Sea region. It operates through three business areas: Retail Banking, Corporate and Institutional Banking and Asset Management & Life. Nordic Processor delivers IT services to NORDEA worldwide. My main responsibilities are participating in the implementation of the Consolidated Computer Center (CCC) and maintaining the Nordea networks in operating conditions all over Scandinavia. • Designing network solutions for collections relocation• Writing design (SDD) and implementation (DDI) documentation • Designing and Installing the Test network module in the CCC • Design and implementation of Nordea’s Life and Pension network in Denmark • Designing the CCC solutions in the E-commerce, Extranet, Remote Access and Test modules.• Examples of collections handled: Markets, Swedish NetBank, Norvegian Citrix farm, credit/payment card profile management, …

Team leader of the infrastruture team. The team is responsible for the connectivity and security of the London Delivery Centre and Global Delivery backbone. The LDC hosts Accenture’s client projects and offers a secure firewalled network within the LDC infrastructure. Through this infrastructure, flexibility is enabled to provide: DMZ resource access, external connectivity into Accenture, vendor access though WAN implementations, internet access though fully redundant ISP and access to the other Global Delivery Centers via the Delivery Center Network. Due to the flexibility that is required by consultants, the LDC is an environment that is fast paced in line with the ever changing client requirements.

Member of the Backbone Network production/deployment team. Cegetel is the leading Private Telecom Operator in France. This role wasn’t hands-on at all. I was responsible for designing solutions, writing installation/configuration and test documentation, and Planning and managing the implementation.My main project during these 6 months was the NOC Migration, but I was also able to work of various projects on the ISP’s backbone (Installing PE’s, re-designing part of the Frame-relay cloud, upgrading links, …). This experience allowed me become familiar with MPLS, BGP and IP routing in an ISP environment.

The team was responsible for designing, implementing and supporting isolated networks for independent R&D entities/projects. ABS is Alcatel’s Business Unit specialized in VoIP products. The fact that most of the projects implemented very advanced VoIP notions helped me gain a good understanding of large scale VoIP networks and complex data design.

Integration of IP services and security:• Integration of a DNS service for the private LAN nodes names to IP address translation,• Integration of a NTP client/server service for synchronization of these machines and time setup, security utilization,• Integration of a DHCP service for distributing dynamically IP addresses to these nodes,• Development of a Linux based Firewall, • Development of a hierarchical cryptographic keys system in order to make secure upgrades from Nokia partners (third parties),• Establishment of security policies concerning the access to the gateway’s private network.• Integration of a video and voice (VoIP) solution based on SIP.Integration and validation tests:• Detailed tests specification,• Setup of a tunnel (VPN) in order to test voice quality in a tunnel, with Cisco routers,• DNS, NTP and DHCP servers configuration in a validation environment,• Firewall permeability tests (ports scanning)
