As an integral member of the Pitney Bowes legal department, I looked after the business’s legal affairs across all lines of business for all of Asia Pacific, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, India and Singapore. I regularly drafted, reviewed and negotiated contracts with customers, suppliers and partners of the business; provided legal advice to all areas of the business including marketing, finance, sales, management and human resources, and commercial and operational advice in relation to structuring of deals with customers and other areas of the business; I attended to company secretary functions; reviewed and responded to tenders for both government and commercial entities; provided staff with legal induction training and updates to legal issues impacting the business; I acted in various property matters including negotiating of property leases for all of Asia Pacific; managed external counsel in both contentious and non-contentious matters; and acted in other corporate and commercial functions including mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring, compliance matters, and data protection advice, taxation, and other projects involving the legal department. I also sat on the Senior Leadership Team for the hardware business and was heavily involved in operational matters.
