John Cushman Email and Phone Number
As an Organizational leader in the United States Air Force, I have spent 20 years in the Logistics community as an Air Transportation Specialist, also coded the 2T2 career field. Early in my career I received a breadth of experience working as a Cargo/Aircraft Loading Specialist; Passenger Service Agent, and Special Handling Cargo Liaison. Responsible for securely managing cargo and passengers, Air Transportation specialists ensure that everything and everyone on a military aircraft is transported safely and quickly. From food and medical supplies to helicopters and ground vehicles, these professionals are responsible for coordinating the valuable people and supplies we ship around the world.I led my first training as a formal instructor in 2009. From there I have led many formal courses, as well as delivered professional development seminars to personnel within and outside of my unit, while still gaining experience in logistics with Hazardous Materials certifications and Passenger Service. I have worked both in the U.S. and abroad, taking part in an organization known as the Heavy Airlift Wing (HAW), North Atlantic Treaty Organization's (NATO) first multi-national airlift Logistics hub for Europe. This combined effort of 12 nations is designed to educate and execute global logistics with a focus on interoperability and building partnerships. In 2018 I was selected to become a Formal Schools instructor at the United States Air Force Expeditionary Center in Wrightstown, New Jersey. I received my second Associate's Degree from the Community College of the Air Force here, after completing my internship as an instructor.Since February 2023, I have led a fully functioning 40 personnel uniformed and civilian team of Air Transportation personnel. My team is responsible for servicing every aircraft that arrives in Charleston, SC. I also oversee and manage their training and career development. I am charged with their professional guidance, leadership development, and growth.
