I joined Infosys Limited as a Systems Engineer. I was obliged to undergo a rigorous training program beginning with comprehensive Java training, starting with fundamentals and progressing to advanced topics. This training also included a deep dive into Database Management Systems where I implemented and refined my ability to design tables within databases, manipulate the data within these tables and employ queries to extract relevant information.Later, I was placed in the Mainframe Modernization stream. I gained hands-on experience with a range of Mainframe technologies like z/OS, JCL, COBOL, COBOL-DB2, and CICS using the Mochasoft software. Initially, my focus was on effective utilization of the z/OS. Other technologies like JCL statements and their parameters, COBOL and the working of its Divisions, DB2, etc. were an integral part of my work. My role also involved delving deeper into concepts like file handling, COBOL-DB2 integration, and COBOL's synergy with CICS.The highlight of this phase focused on our collaborative initiatives, as I worked with a team of five to undertake various projects. Among these, one noteworthy project involved “Maintaining patient – doctor records” which made use of COBOL-DB2 and other subtle features of edited picture class. “Interface for New User Registration” was another project where COBOL, DB2, JCL and even used CICS were used to create a working interface. We also tackled smaller projects, like "Top Rated Movies at Happy Entertainments" where our JCL knowledge was well exercised. I also had the chance to utilise my leadership skills by taking the role of scrum master for these projects. I have also completed several certifications and assessments via the company’s online education website (LEX). I used this platform to learn, get certified and gain expertise in important topics related to data science, like Python, Data Science using Python, R, Probability and Statistics using R and Data Visualisation (R and Python).

Worked as a Methods Engineer for the Commercial Vehicles unit (NRP) Rim Line at WIL. Responsibilities of Methods Engineer included 1)Data Collection- Collection various data about the line like Welding parameters, Cycle time for each machine in the line, Element time of each machine process and current tool life.2) Innovation- The above collected data was then analysed and used to make decisions on how to improve the line and to check for any deviation in the standard value for each machine to make sure the process was within the required limits. Other tasks included giving suggestions on how to reduce man power as much as possible within the line and efficiently allocate available manpower.3) Management- Management involved regular communication with other departments like Planning and Quality department in order to make sure that the line remains operational and production doesn't get interrupted due to reasons like need for Forklift, Quality assurance or waiting for a tool change. It also involved communication with individual line supervisors for each shift and enquiring whether a tool change was required in order to produce a different size of rim or need to shift pallets holding the finished rims from one place to another which were managed by utilising the available man power and other utilities like forklifts.
