I'm a seasoned software engineer who isn't afraid to be excited. I enjoy working with compassionate, curious people. I like difficult engineering challenges, and am not stopped by the unknown. I understand the reach and long-term impacts of the smallest problems, and know how to lead teams forward to avoid the bigger ones. I know when to act fast, and when to pause and consider the effects of changes. I'm also very comfortable with public speaking, and have loads of experience training employees in a variety of subjects.I'm a lover of all things open source. I know that while open source seems like a simple problem to many, it's difficult for most to wrangle at scale. Open source is as much of a social space as it is an engineering one, and it's crucial to train and encourage developers into the right behaviors, instead of allowing the "easy" defaults to continue.I'm experienced in Ruby, TypeScript/JavaScript, Rust, Python, Go, and anything else I can get my hands on to learn. I've built development tools used by thousands to make their own lives easier. I'll always look for a root cause to fix a problem at its source, and keep my ear to the ground to ensure I'm collecting the right feedback from customers, external or internal. And yes, I know how AWS works.
