About Pedro Machado

I am a seasoned Human Resources professional and a Psychologist with a specialization in Organizational Psychology. My academic background includes a degree in Psychology and a Master's in Adult Education and Training, supplemented by three postgraduate qualifications.Throughout my career, I have maintained a steadfast commitment to humanitarian action, working directly with highly vulnerable populations. These experiences encompass support to excluded and needy children and adolescents, at-risk youth, homeless individuals, and victims of human trafficking.On the international stage, I have had the opportunity to serve in several renowned organizations. With Doctors Without Borders, I served in Angola, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone, and with the International Committee of the Red Cross, I held the position of National HR Coordinator in four countries - Yemen, South Sudan, Afghanistan, and Mozambique.Furthermore, I have had the honor of working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Costa Rica as Head of HR. Currently, I continue to dedicate my efforts to the humanitarian cause as the Head of HR in Haiti with the World Food Programme (WFP).
