About Joe O'Callaghan
Hailing from the UK and now back living in London after 7 years in China, I am currently Head of English Language Learning and Acquisition. In my previous role I was English Department Head and Instructional Coach specialising in Content & Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). As an IBDP teacher, examiner, and co-author of the English B Inthinking website, my teaching philosophy is firmly rooted in inquiry-based, student-centred, and project-based learning. As a leader, I believe in empowering individuals to develop professionally and personally through a Professional Learning Community approach. As a teacher, I believe in empowering students to become lifelong learners by equipping them with the skills required in the 21st Century workplace and striving to embody the IB Learner Profile.
