Working variable shifts on bars and concession stands at large venues from Manchester Arena to Depot Mayfield, high-quality customer service at a fast rate to keep up with demand was necessary. This required strong communication skills between both staff and customers and teamwork to ensure efficiency in service. The nature of the role meant working with a new team each shift and so building rapport quickly was a priority.

Working in hospitality at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, I developed the necessary skills to work quickly and efficiently as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction. Serving food and beverages whilst interfacing with customers helped me build upon my communication skills in one of my first jobs.

As a court monitor at a Flip Out trampoline park, strong communication skills were vital to ensure not only safe use of the facilities but also to engage positively with customers to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience. Interacting with individuals of all ages, from very young children to adults, meant adapting yourself to best deal with the specific situation in each circumstance. An important part of the role was helping to run the ASD oriented sessions for children with disabilities and special educational needs. In these, extra considerations were taken to ensure an enjoyable experience for all.

Working as a runner in The Kings Head in Birmingham, I held combined duties with both the restaurant and the bar. This meant working in a fast-paced environment to ensure food was delivered from the kitchen, tables in both sections were kept clean whilst keeping the bar stocked and simultaneously delivering a high-quality customer experience as the interface between patrons and the business. As a result, adaptability was key to guarantee exceptional service was provided in all areas.
