As Deputy Project Manager / Project Business Manager for Crossrails Eastern Running Tunnels my responsibilities included safely overseeing construction activities and managing interfaces between current contractors and follow-on contractors.In addition, I was responsible for monitoring and improving contractor’s Health & Safety and Quality compliance, along with their progress and performance against programme milestones which resulted in the successful completion of tunnelling in May 2015.

As Lead Airfield Engineer working as part of the team delivering the iconic Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar; I was initially responsible for the design management for Airfield Pavement, Infrastructure & Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) Construction Packages and additionally took responsibility for the Air Traffic Control (ATC) & Meteorological (MET) Systems Construction Package.My tasks included- Review of Airfield & Civil Design Documents- Managing/Resolving Interface issues between multiple Construction Packages- On-site technical support to multiple Construction Packages- Production of preliminary designs, specifications and other change documents- Establishing ATC and MET Systems Operational Readiness Testing requirements- Direct contact with the Client/End-User including design issues, requests for information and stakeholder liaison. - Leading technical meetings with Client/End-User/Contractors and other disciplines.- Leading coordination with End-User Airfield Licensing Officer and Operational Readiness and Transfer Team.Leading the airfield elements of this new airport from design development through to operational handover ultimately resulted in the successful delivery of Aerodrome Licence to allow flight operations from 01 April 2013.

As Design Team Lead for the Guernsey Airport Airside Pavements Rehabilitation, I was responsible for:- Production of scoping report for runway and drainage elements of the project.- Specifying and procuring investigation / survey data.- Direct contact with the Client including reporting on design progress, requests for information and stakeholder liaison.- Managing and coordinating the runway and drainage elements of the project.- Recommendations to Client of contractor procurement route and contract type.- Production of detailed overall cost estimates for the project options.- Coordination of runway works with other disciplines including AGL, navigational aids (NAVAIDS) and planning.

As Design Team Lead for the Dublin Airport Authority Airfield Drainage Strategy, I was responsible for:- Detailed drainage simulations of the entire airfield.- Produced report for feasibility of a number of options for attenuation of both surface / polluted water runoff.- Produced economic analysis and presented recommendations to the Client.- Presented findings and proposals to the local authority for approval.- Production of contract documentation and illustrative design.- Managed the tender process, completed tender interviews/assessments, presented recommendations to Client and managed the subsequent detailed design review.

As Lead Design Engineer for the Imperial War Museum Duxford Runway Resurfacing, I was responsible for:- Production of conceptual design.- Production, management and administration of contract documents.- Working with the contractor to establish possible options to reduce the scheme cost & schedule and completed a technical review the options.Once the above was complete I was Resident Engineer throughout the works and was responsible for:- Monitoring of the works to programme design and specification.- Monitoring of completed works throughout defects period.- Completion of valuations for payment.- Writing and issuing of the certificate of practical completion.

As Design Engineer for the Dublin Airport Authority Apron Taxiway Developments, I was responsible for:- Detailed pavement and drainage design elements of these schemes.- Managing production of detailed drawings by a number of disciplines.- Produced drainage strategy for each scheme and presented it for local authority approval.- Managed the production of pavement and drainage items for the BoQ (CESMM3).- Direct communication with the Client in the production of contract documentation, design elements.- Design office focal point for all technical queries and variations for our resident engineer.
