My role involves the creation, development and maintenance of productive partnerships with the public sector. I manage the contact point for Robertson Group with our key public partners and help develop strategies that deliver your objectives. I have been directing and supporting public bodies to develop and deliver major projects across the UK since 2004. Innovation and creativity around project development, investment, procurement and strategy have enabled a number of exciting programmes. These have involved creating productive partnerships between public and private sector bodies.

Advisor to the Executive Group and the Board of Trustees. We were pleased to launch the design competition internationally and select a talented, international team for the project! My key responsibilities for Scottish Government in this role were: - develop and maintain relationships with investors, project owners and developers- maintain and accelerate progress for project delivery and investment- ensure communications with investment / finance sectors and across the Scottish Government / its agencies, are productive and coordinated- lead investment discussions and facilitate a cross sectoral and joined up approach- develop and champion projects across all Low Carbon sectors- develop and maintain international awareness of these opportunities, leading both outward and inward delegations and events as appropriate- develop the Scottish Green Investment Portfolio project pipeline and facilitate sources of public and private investment

Development and coordination of the Scottish Green Investment Portfolio: Accessing finance for Low Carbon and Green Sector projects. Identification and development of propositions for Low Carbon and Energy investment.Advising on the investability of projects.Identify projects for funding and support. Liaison between public and private sectors for project inception and development. Primary liaison for Scottish Government with UK Green Investment Bank.Advise on the development of teams to progress projects and investment structures.Sourcing finance and delivery interest for major projects.Structuring the team and our organisational approach to facilitate market engagement.

The Scottish Green Investment Portfolio is tasked with the following: ~ Assisting in the origination and development of project concepts and ideas~ Supporting the development of these projects to a stage where funding can be sourced~ Developing a pipeline of potential projects across Scotland for Low Carbon investment~ Advising the public and private sectors, assisting in the development of projects and facilitating access to sources of finance~ Liaising and facilitating between organisations to enable more rapid development of projects, more certainty around availability of finance and to increase the scale of projects in Low Carbon sectors~ Developing key relationships across the Finance and Investment markets~ Developing projects to agreed specifications that match the requirements set out by the clients in the Finance and Investment markets~ Advising project teams and investors on project development and delivery, particularly for green and sustainable sectors

Jonathan created Project Edinburgh and the String of Pearls projects for the City of Edinburgh whilst on secondment from Standard Life from 2004 to 2008. Having created development frameworks, projects and investment opportunities with the Project Edinburgh Design Team; Jonathan and the team then secured major investment interest in the city from global investors and developers. Jonathan joined the Council full time in March 2008. The role involved: ~ leading and developing investment interest in the city, ~ creating opportunities for investment around the 4 regeneration zones of Project Edinburgh,~ coordinating Council Service areas to provide joined up solutions, ~ providing vision, innovation and consistent leadership for the public sector interface with the private sector and ~ collaborating across multiple sectors to ensure the vision and focus of development and investment is understood.Advising project teams and service providers on structure, investment, development and efficiency. Leading on liaison with Scottish Government for Investment and Low Carbon developments. Managing relationships with senior international investors and property owners in the City of Edinburgh. Working to develop new International contacts for investment, development, employment and innovation.

Seconded to Scottish Government to advise on the development of investment and development strategy for cities and infrastructure. Working with the Cities and Digital Strategy team, consulting on project investment and development. Supporting and advising the development and delivery of the Scottish Cities Agenda and Cities Fund. Developing a pipeline of investment opportunities. Working with the 6 cities, investment and occupation sectors.Organising and developing projects around Smart, Digital and Renewable city priorities. Facilitating the development of key, long term relationships between Local Authorities and sources of funds and finance. Encouraging confidence in Cities and other Local Authorities to develop investment opportunities and engage with the private sector.

Development of key relationships for Low Carbon investment. Project pipeline developed for Energy, Low Carbon, Waste and Transportation projects.Project prospectuses (prospecti?) developed for major infrastructure and city projects. Relationships developed under a number of structures to secure meaningful long term activity for investment, growth and development.Project programmes established for the Mitsui Arup Sustainable Projects team. Advisory input to qualifying projects and integrating these within the new team.

Seconded to the City of Edinburgh to develop and deliver an investment and development strategy for the city. This resulted in the creation of Project Edinburgh, The String of Pearls (Princes Street) Framework, the 4 Development Zone strategy and over £1Bn of committed investment from UK / European investment funds.The 4 Development Zones of Project Edinburgh are now a key part of the city's strategy for investment and development. Many projects in Princes Street and elsewhere in the city, have been facilitated and delivered through the framework approach and the work of the team.
