Cloud adoption has new and exciting challenges, and presents a whole new area for software test development.I design, develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, JMeter, PITest, but I am familiar with many cross-over applications. I review code written by team members, providing feedback and use code repositories such as GIT to ensure the reliability and scalability of the test automation framework. My specialist skill set is writing adjunct code in languages such as Python and Java to compensate for inadequacies identified in commercial automated testing tools. Creating and executing automated tests for API endpoints using RestAssured, Postman and similar, ensures the reliability and correct function of back-end services. Augmenting tests using tools such as JMeter I orchestrate performance tests to identify bottlenecks, scalability issues, and absolute limits under load conditions. An important part of my day is identifying, documenting and reporting software defects using Jira, and assisting developers as a part of the debugging process.
