About Jonathan Krauss

Need a clock for your satellite that keeps time to a billionth of a second or so? Well, when that day comes--and we both know someday it will--you know where to find me. In the meantime, I apply my 12+ years of engineering and management skills leading teams who develop highly reliable electronics for space. My passion for efficiency has led to incorporating new and innovative practices to my work. Applying Product Line Engineering to my products let us reduce development costs and schedule by carefully managing common parts of a design vs. what absolutely has to be unique for each customer. Agile development practices are just making their way into the hardware development realm, and I am excited to be at the forefront of applying them to a historically very non-agile industry.Before embarking on my journey of efficiency, I have held electrical design engineering roles of increasing scope, covering the gamut from RF and microwave, to analog/mixed signal, as well as digital processing. I spent several years in R&D, developing, marketing, and proposing the next generation of technology.Outside the office I escape engineering and management with music and the outdoors, singing in a symphonic choir and scuba diving. I occasionally even dabble in technology in my personal life, writing the occasional line of code, and automating my house with all self-hosted software.
