About Janet Patterson-Kane Frcvs

How to use scientific research to improve the quality of life and health span of as many animals as possible. That is my mission.I am a veterinarian, research scientist, diagnostician, and animal welfare expert with 20+ years of leadership experience. I have worked as a change maker and innovator in University, nonprofit and corporate environments with proven results. This has included running the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study for more than 3 years. My focus is on the collaborative teamwork that is at the heart of all translational research. I subscribe to the 'theory of change' method to achieve meaningful outcomes. This facilitates planning and conducting clinical research such that the results are useful for animals, their caregivers, and veterinary professionals. One example of such research that I was personally involved in were the paradigm shifts in understanding equine laminitis, which led to significantly changed clinical approaches to endocrinopathic cases. If you would like to explore research partnerships or other initiatives, either as part of my Mars Petcare role or my broader activities, feel free to connect and message me. I have wide interests! The views expressed in my posts are my own and do not reflect the views of my employer.
