* Led thoughtful and significant change in scientific strategy, supported by the Board of Trustees, with a renewed focus on the most important canine, feline, equid and wildlife health issues * Increased feline grant funding submissions, established a partnership with EveryCat to fund a shelter project at Denver Dumb Friends League, and commissioned a project using feline insurance data to predict disease risks.* Led the scientific strategy and improved the operational management of the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study, putting it in a better position to achieve meaningful outcomes and communicate those achievements to participating 'Hero' owners. Initiatives included: 'Golden Zoomies' webinars; a Cancer Epidemiologist position at the Royal Veterinary College to support the study; and the Neuropathology Initiative in partnership with the Mayo Clinic.* Increased the focus on animal welfare in line with current science, ethical thought, public opinion and international law, and expanded the Animal Welfare Advisory Board which oversees funding decisions* In collaboration with the Development team, established the 'donor-inspired' program, which increased the annual number of grant calls from 4 to 15+ and significantly increased Foundation income* Increased diversity, equity and international inclusion in scientific review boards and established the Animal Health Advisory Council* Introduced meaningful policy to prevent 'parachute science' and include environmental impact considerations* Created and established significant industry, academic and foundational partnerships to maximize scientific outcomes* Reorganized and built the scientific department to facilitate intra- and inter-departmental collaboration and strong mission focusCreated meaningful change in a Foundation that was established almost 75 years ago, leaving it in a better place to achieve scientific and broader impact in a rapidly changing world.
