Midland has focused on providing Superior Quality Service with LTL and truckload transportation services to customers in Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario and the U.S. Managing a fleet of 62 U.S drivers, I provide our Midland drivers with up-to-date pick-up and delivery information.

Communication is essential to the success of on time delivery and pick up. I insure that the communication is followed thru to achieve an outstanding customer satisfaction. Working in conjunction with terminal dock supervisors and managers, I plan the movement in priority of various freight such as less than truck load (LTL), truck load (TL) and customer pick ups. I also help oversee a group of dispatchers assigned to various Eastern, Western and U.S. fleets.

My responsibilities were to provide effective up to the minute communication regarding the pick up of customer freight. My region covered the province of Nova-Scotia and parts of Nfld, where I dispatched up to 100 couriers and over 600 pick up request daily. I also work in conjunction with Unit Managers from each depot, providing them with up the minute situation reports pertaining to their area. I have also filled in as a Courier for the company as well as a dock worker where I obtained training in shipping and receiving, dangerous goods handling and documentation and as a lead hand for the a.m. dock operations.

My responsibilities were to manage the resources (Human, Physical, and Financial) of designated areas of the store. Interface with other store departments and to ensure achievement of store objectives. Daily duties involved human resources, customer service, loss prevention, marketing, merchandising, and finance. As a Point of Sales Manager my responsibilities were to maintain and monitor the files and equipment for the point of sales system. Maintaining accurate up to date P.O.S system files, conducts (telxon) shops to predetermined schedules to ensure error rate was below established guidelines, and ensure price changes and new shelf labels were implemented on a timely basis.
